Last mission, we followed the contamination back through the permissions and rationalizations until we found the source. But when you finally arrive at the source of a compromise, you run into a bigger question than a bad habit: why does this thing have this much power over me? Mission 03 of CLEARANCE PROTOCOL confronts that question head-on.

Fleet Commander Brandon teaches that idolatry, stripped of its golden calves and carved images, is ultimately an authority issue. It’s whatever is trusted, feared, protected, obeyed, or depended upon in ways that belong to God alone. Money can hold that seat. So can comfort, approval, a relationship, a reputation, or a fear of what people think. None of them announce their authority — they exercise it quietly, through the pattern of your actual choices. Whatever consistently wins when it goes up against God’s claim on your life is your functional authority, regardless of what you say on a Sunday morning.
